DENISE SELF
STEM/Computer Lab
I am working on my 5th year in the STEM Lab at Vonore Elementary School. I am not new to VES, as I substituted for 8 years, transitioned to Pre-Kindergarten in July of 2016. I worked in the Pre-K classroom for 5 years before I took the position in the STEM Lab. It's always an adventure and I still have a lot to learn about STEM, but enjoy learning with "my kiddos"!
Outside of school
I have been married to my husband, Stephen for almost 30 years. We have 2 children, a son-in-law and now a beautiful granddaughter. Scarlett is 25 and has a Bachelors Degree in Radiology and married Zachary Sitlzer on October 15, 2022. Scarlett and Zach welcomed a sweet baby girl and my first grandbaby, Sadie on May 5, 2025. Colby is 22 and graduated from CSCC with his Mechatronics Certification and Associates Degree. He is a Maintenance Tech 2 and a certified Mechatronics and Robotics trainer at Amazon.
My favorite activities are camping, lake time, reading and spending time with my family. My most favorite thing to do now is spend time and spoil Sadie. We also enjoy taking family trips when we can.
