Maria Mathews-Underwood

3/4 Grade Teacher 

 

Hello! My name is Mrs. Maria Mathews-Underwood. I received my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with honors from Cleveland State Community College in 2007. I received my Bachelor Degree in Kindergarten-Sixth Human Growth and Learning with honors from Tusculum College in 2010. Then, I received my Master’s in Educational Psychology from Capella University in 2017. I have a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. 

I taught multi-age for three years and straight first for one year at Madisonville Primary School. I was the librarian for one year at Vonore Elementary School. I taught first grade for the  eight years  and half a year teaching a first-second split. I have taught third and fourth grade ELA this year.

I love teaching! I can't wait to see how far we grow this year!
