Hello, my name is Kristy Young, I have been married to my husband Robert since 2018. Together we have 8 children, Robert Jr, Allison, Jacob, Baylee, Isaac, Hank, Waylon, and Novella, and 2 grandchildren Isaiah and Ava. I grew up in Blount County, began my education at Eagleton Elementary School and I graduated from Heritage High School class of 2004. I worked as a custodian for the State of Tennessee when my husband encouraged me to pursue a career in education when our youngest children started Kindergarten. I worked as a Special Education Assistant and an RTI Math Teacher at Vonore Middle School. I then began my time at Vonore Elementary school in August 2023 where I completed my student teaching, worked as a substitute, and then as a Special Education Assistant to finish out the school year. I started my college education at Western Governor’s University in April 2021 while working and raising 5 kids. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in March of 2024 and earned my Master's of Science Curriculum and Instruction in July of 2025. I love teaching!!! Being able to see and help students live up to their potential is one of my biggest dreams.
I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my kids play softball, baseball, and basketball. I also love camping and traveling the country with my family in our motorhome.
