Tutoring Available

Ms. Maria Mathews (1st grade) will be offering free, after-school instruction/tutoring to students who are in most need of academic support. These classes will take place from 3:30-5:30 on Mondays and 3:30-4:30 on Tuesdays. Any changes to that schedule will be communicated by Ms. Mathews. While many students may apply, classroom space will be limited to 15 students - those who exhibit the most need as determined by benchmark testing, TNReady, and other classroom data. Applications will be accepted until 10:00 AM, Friday, October 1, 2021.

Milk Day

We will be celebrating World Milk Day on Thursday, September 30th. Students and teachers can celebrate by dressing up as cowboys, cowgirls, and cows!

School Closure (September 1st & 2nd)

Monroe County Schools will be closed for students and staff Wednesday (September 1st) and Thursday (September 2nd), and for students on Friday (September 3rd). Click the link for more details.

"Monroe County School System will be closed on Wednesday (September 1st) and Thursday (September 2nd) and all extracurricular activities, including sports, will be cancelled Wednesday (September 1st) through Friday (September 3rd). 

Students will not come to school on Friday (September 3rd), and teachers will participate remotely in staff development on that day.  Alternate plans for teachers without internet access at home will be provided, and more details will follow.   

Please be mindful of the reasons behind this closure, as we are allowing sick or quarantined students and staff an opportunity to recover.  We would like to encourage all employees, staff, and students to please limit attendance to any large events or activities in order for the closure to maximize our goal of curbing the chances of exposure and to aid in flattening the curve.   

We will return to school after Labor Day on Tuesday (September 7th), and we hope to see a healthy return of our students and staff."

ATTENTION 3RD AND 4TH GRADE PARENTS!

Our 3rd and 4th graders will be receiving Chromebooks this year. There is normally a $35 technology fee, but it will be paid with ESSER (Covid-19 Relief) funds this year only.

Before students receive their device, the Chromebook Policies and Agreement needs to be completed. To do this, you will click the headline above and enter your students id number. This is their permanent id number that they use to sign into Clever and other programs. They should know this number. If not, please email Ms. Pam at maplesp@monroek12.org or Ms. Amos at amoss@monroek12.org and we will locate the number for you.

We will also have paper copies available at Open House on Wednesday, August 4th, from 3-5.

Helpful hint.....If you are using your phone to sign the agreement, turn your phone sideways or the box won't show up!

New Student Registration

Mark your calendars for New Student Registration on July 28th from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

You will need:
1. Proof of residency
2. Birth certificate
3. Social security card
4. Shot record and physical on a TN form.
