Maria Mathews

1st Grade Teacher 

 

Hello! My name is Mrs. Maria Mathews. I received my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with honors from Cleveland State Community College in 2007. I received my Bachelor Degree in Kindergarten-Sixth Human Growth and Learning with honors from Tusculum College in 2010. Then, I received my Master’s in Educational Psychology from Capella University in 2017. I have a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. I just finished getting my supervision hours to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I plan on taking the state test soon.

I taught multi-age for three years at Madisonville Primary School and one year in straight first grade. I was the librarian for one year at Vonore Elementary School. I have taught first grade for the past seven years at Vonore Elementary and half a year teaching a first-second split.

I love teaching! I can't wait to see how far we grow this year!
